The School of Management at the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne is one of the largest departments in France in the field of management sciences. Located in the heart of the capital, it benefits from a rich cultural and intellectual environment as well as easy access to numerous French and international companies.

With nearly 3,500 students, 85 faculty members including 16 full professors and 40 associate professors, more than 340 professional contributors, and 36 state-recognized degrees including 28 master’s programs — 5 of which offer work-study training — the EMS has been offering for over forty years a high-level, diverse education program adapted to market needs and not limited to the national territory. Thanks to its Erasmus partnerships, multiple exchange programs (Crepuq, USAL), and ties with prestigious American universities (Columbia, Brown, Cornell), EMS enjoys a strong international presence.

Open to the business world, we have established relationships with over a thousand companies of all sizes and sectors. Many recognized professional associations have helped design the curriculum of some of our degrees and remain essential professional partners today (Order of Chartered Accountants, French Marketing Association, French Association of Corporate Treasurers, French Transport Association, National Association of Financial Directors and Management Controllers, French Society of Appraisers, etc.).

Both companies and professional associations that represent them recognize the value of our degrees, which are regularly ranked among the top in national listings, and they understand that these degrees are the result of a long, rigorous, and selective path. Combined with a commitment to excellence, this selection enables holders of our Master 2 diplomas to find employment easily, at levels of responsibility and remuneration comparable to those of the top business schools. This close relationship explains why we created, together with ESCP Europe, a joint doctoral school in management sciences.

Doctoral School 559, with 250 doctoral candidates, is currently the largest in France in management sciences by number of members. It provides training and degrees to many PhDs who enrich both higher education and research institutions as well as professional sectors. The doctoral school works closely with Sorbonne Research in Management, which includes nearly one hundred researchers and brings together the two closely linked institutions, EMS and IAE Paris.

Alongside the expertise of faculty and professional contributors is the energy of the students. The Student Management Association (AGP1), the Alumni Association (AGS), and Sorbonne Junior Conseil give our department invaluable spirit and dynamism.
