Study Trip to Tokyo, Japan (M2 IMCDS)
A transformative learning expedition to Japan for M2 IMCDS students
From May 2 to June 3, 2025, students from the Master 2 IMCDS program at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne embarked on an exceptional international learning expedition in Tokyo. This immersive experience offered far more than a change of scenery—it provided a deep dive into a country renowned for the complexity of its economic structure, the subtlety of its social dynamics, and the richness of its cultural heritage.
Over this intensive month-long program, students had the opportunity to visit prestigious universities like Waseda, meet high-level professionals across diverse sectors, and attend thought-provoking conferences. These engagements enhanced their understanding of global challenges, strengthened their intercultural competencies, and sharpened their ability to navigate a wide range of professional environments.
Highlights included meetings with leaders from Dassault Systèmes Japan, BNP Paribas Japan, and LVMH Japan, as well as immersive discussions on innovation with La French Tech Tokyo and SIA Partners. Students explored cutting-edge AI applications with companies like Azest, Sansan, and ZOZO Research, and gained first-hand insights into the Franco-Japanese economic landscape during a conference at the French Embassy.
Beyond the academic and professional aspects, daily life in Tokyo allowed participants to forge meaningful human connections in an atmosphere of mutual respect and curiosity. Whether sharing dinners with Japanese students from Waseda or discovering the vibrant streets around Senso-ji Temple, these moments left lasting impressions.
Special thanks go to Mr. Florent Pratlong and Ms. Hela Ben Miled-Cherif, whose dedication, constant guidance, and impeccable organization were key to the program’s success. Thanks to their support, this learning expedition became a truly formative journey—intellectually, personally, and professionally.
Through this unique blend of theory and practice, students not only deepened their global business knowledge but also developed essential skills in intercultural communication and adaptability, preparing them to become future leaders in an interconnected world.
